My name is Jaxin Woodward and I have had a diagnosis of Asthma since I was an infant, according to my Asthma Care Team. Asthma can't stop me because I have been running track and Field and Cross Country since I was 5 years old. I currently run for Full Stride Track Club and run the 800m and 1500m, which are considered middle distance events and require endurance. Since I was 5 years old, I have competed aginist girls who were 9-10 years old because USA Track and Field does not offer the 800m and 1500m for my age group. Last year (2009), I placed 4th in the Primary Girls 800m run at the AAU Nationals, with a time of 2:51.40, earning a National Medal. I also crossed the line in 5th place at the Cross Country Junior Olympics for the Pacfic Association, running the 3,000m in a time of 13:16.00. This season, I am still competing in a higher age division, and have run the 800m in 2:46.86 and the 1500m in 5:34.40, which are my personal best. I do well in school and have time to hang out with my soccer friends. Did I forget to tell you that I just turned 8 in February?
