I am the mother of three children who have been diagnosed with asthma. It has been a battle with the late nights of coughing, wheezing, breathing treatments, ER visits, and hospital admissions. January 30, 2005 was a day that changed my life forever. My oldest daughter, Alexandrya, died from an asthma attack. It was a tragic, heartbreaking time for me. After five years, I have finally built up the strength to turn my tragedy into a blessing. On Saturday, March 5, 2010, the day after Alexandrya's 13th birthday, I will have a program entitled Lexie Fest. This purpose of the program is to raise asthma awareness, money for the Lexie Memorial Scholarship, and give praise to God for the life of Alexandrya and the lives of the others who have passed to asthma. I invite you to come join us in our first of, hopefully many more, Lexie Fest.
