With the era of fast-food upon us, there has been a general decline in overall health and an increase in obesity across America, especially in youth. As a newly retired NFL football player who played in the league for 13 years, Chris Draft hadto be in top physical condition to perform his best on the field. His passion for fitness led to the establishment of the Chris Draft Family Foundation’s (CDFF) Get Checked and Get Fit™ initiative.
Get Checked and Get Fit™ is a nationwide campaign that provides access to tools and opportunities which encourages youth and their families to make positive choices regarding their overall health and wellness. The initiative is not limited to physical health, but mental and financial health as well, as CDFF embraces the importance of health in all aspects of life.
With an emphasis on educating through example, the foundation sponsors signature events called Get Checked and Get Fit™ Draft Days® across the country. The Draft Day® curriculum consists of sessions for both youth and parents that are specially designed to give families both the opportunity and tools to make choices to live healthier lifestyles.
CDFF also makes an impact nationwide through a variety of strategic partnerships, which includes working with groups such as the American Heart Association, The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Environmental Protection Agency and NFL Youth Education Town (YET) facilities in NFL cities across the country.
