Military Appreciation

Camp LeJune, North Carolina

March 1, 2010

On March 22, 2007, Chris Draft led a contingent of Carolina Panthers, including the Carolina Panther mascot “Sir Purr”, several TopCats Cheerleaders, members of the Panthers’ staff and teammates Terrence Melton and Taye Biddle to North Carolina’s Camp Lejeune.

The day-long visit began in the Wounded Warrior Barracks with a presentation of an autographed Carolina Panthers helmet, and also included participation in martial arts training, a visit to the simulated marksmanship trainer and observation of live military demonstrations and weapons arranged to reinforce the team’s appreciation for the service members in the region.  The day was capped off by a Panthers Junior Training Camp on W.P. T Field for 200 children led by Coach Pete Vacho.  The junior training stations were staffed by Chris Draft, Taye Biddle and Terrence Melton, along with several Marine volunteer mentors.
