Let's Read. Let's Move. -- Atlanta Metro
September 16, 2011
As part of the All Pro Dad’s day at Harmony Leland Elementary, our Founder Chris Draft will share his experiences with the Let’s Read. Let’s Move. initiative, working to pair the organization’s monthly father & son bonding event with the nation-wide initiative led by First Lady Michelle Obama and five federal agencies - U.S. Department of Education, Department of Interior, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Agriculture, and Institute of Museums and Libraries.
This month’s special All Pro Dad event will bring the principles of the CDFF and the Let’s Read. Let’s Move. initiative to the forefront of the Family First’s innovative program that strives to help men become better fathers.
The Let's Read. Let's Move. initiative seeks to combat childhood obesity and summer reading loss by engaging youth in summer reading and physical activity, as well as by providing access to healthy, affordable food. The initiative is an Administration-wide effort led by the Corporation for National and Community Service in collaboration with First Lady Michelle Obama and five federal agencies - U.S. Department of Education, Department of Interior, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Agriculture, and Institute of Museums and Libraries.
