Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center
Team Draft will visit LSU Health Sciences Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center (SSSCC) located in New Orleans, Lousiana.  During the visit, Team Draft will have a chance to discuss clinical trials and research development with Dr. Augusto Ochoa, Director of the Cancer Center and Professor of Pediatrics, and Dr. Brian Boulmay, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director of the Hematology/Oncology clinic at the Cancer Center.  Team Draft will have the opportunity to tour the newly built research facility located on the campus. The
facility has 172,000 square feet of space on 10 floors, where researchers have access to state-of-the-art equipment and resources.

Team Draft will also have a chance to meet with lung cancer survivors Johnny Brumfield and Madeline Borrouso. Johnny Brumfield represented Team Draft at the final New Orleans Saints game as a part of our Survivor at Every Stadium program and Madeline Borrouso will represent Team Draft at the Super Bowl's Taste of the NFL, Party with a Purpose, on Saturday night.

The LSU Health Sciences Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center is part of the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC), which includes the Tulane University Health Sciences Cancer Center, Xavier University, and the Ochsner Clinic Foundation. Approximately $10 million per year is being invested in the Consortium for the purpose of obtaining an NCI-designated, cross-institutional Comprehensive Cancer Center for residents of New Orleans and the surrounding regions. This is the latest stop on the campaign trail as we continue to educate people on the state of lung cancer and bring hope along the way.
