A Survivor at Every Arena: Los Angeles Lakers
December 20, 2013
Los Angeles, CA. Huntington Hospital and USC Norris Cancer Center lung cancer survivor Caroline Maglente Foster will represent Team Draft on Friday at the Staples Center. Caroline, a 5th grade teacher from Pasadena, will watch her hometown LA Lakers take on the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves. “In My Own Words” by Caroline Maglente Foster
I am 45 year old mother to two boys, a partner to a loving and caring man, and the only child to wonderful loving parents. I’m a teacher to 5th students at Don Benito School in Pasadena and a friend to many. I’ve been described as having a spit- fire, strong-willed personality and an inspiration to family and friends. But that comes from the desire and the determination to be courageous, to make light, and to push on from battling stage III lung cancer.
Team Draft's Survivor Series strives to create a unique experience for participating survivors and to raise awareness on a local and national level by using each game and each survivor’s story to weave a broader narrative about the state of lung cancer and the hope that now exists for those battling the disease.
Special thanks to the Los Angeles Lakers, Huntington Hospital and USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center for joining Team Draft in making this experience possible.
